Location:
30 Balfour St Chippendale NSW 2008 Australia

White rabbit art theme:
its all about chinese contemporary art. and some of the masterpiece is talk about social matters in china, some of it talk about human and nature, and some talk about politics in their masterpiece.

My favourite piece of art:

Artist :Li ting ting
Born: Shanxi province, 1982

this painting if we not pay attention clearly, we just see like this is a beautiful painting or that's it. but when u see it closely, u can see that this is not only like just ordinary water colour painting. the artisit used the rice paper material and water based ink and its not a easy task, as i already try it before in my hometown. I like the technique that she used in this painting, look easy but actually hard to be done.

in here I feel the artisit wants to show about movement of live and if we take a look, we can see this painting upside down and the object in this painting(toys) still can be recognize.

My least favourite piece of art:

artist: Chen Chunmu
Born: Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, 1981

i don't like this painting because it makes me feel disgusting and scarry at the same time. i like the technique that this artisit used but i dont like the figures that he paint. seems like dead chicken and its hard for me to get the message from this paintings.

My first feeling when I go to white rabbit gallery is, excited. From the first when i entered the gallery i already amazed by the red statue done by the Wang Jiuliang near the entries door. I was shocked but later I feel hungry at the same time because the smell of the toast from the tea room that this gallery have. but after we start the tour i'm getting more excited by the masterpiece that the chinese artist done. it's all amazing and some got the deeper meaning inside their masterpiece. each artist got different technique. I'm impressed because i just realized that some of the artist still young and they already can express about their thought about their country china. I enjoy this short tour.

the beneficial from this excursion for me is, I can know about the condition in china and how the artist shows it through their art.

Impressionism

Claude Monet The Cliffs at Etretat

Impressionism is an art movement that first started in France in the mid 1880. this art movement is a major one especially in painting, but later this art movement influence in music as well. In this art movement, many artist painted in a very traditional way which is spending hours in a studio, and this art movement pay attintion in extremely detailed paintings. the object sometimes focus in people or landscapes or some historical events.

Camille Pissaro

some the famous artist or can be the key people in this art movement are :
Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissaro
among those artist who get influenced with this art movement, monet,Pissaro,Sisley, andMorisot, maybe considered as a pure impressionest Monet is one of the artist that influence this art movement.

for me this art movement is really interesting because its put extremely detail on the painting with using the brush technique.
I like the way this art movement create the detail in a simple object like nature or people. they used bright colour and when you see it closed you can find sort of brush technique (like dot pattern).

white rabbit gallery

About white rabbit gallery:

The White Rabbit Collection is one of the world’s largest and most significant collections of contemporary Chinese art. Founded by Kerr and Judith Neilson, it focuses on works produced after 2000.

The origins of the Collection go back to the late 1990s, when Judith Neilson engaged Wang Zhiyuan, a Chinese artist then living in Sydney, as her art tutor. He introduced her to the astonishing explosion of creativity taking place in China in the wake of the “Opening Up” that had begun in 1989. Mrs Neilson began buying works, but soon ran out of space to hang them. She and her husband then decided to open a gallery that would make the exciting world of contemporary Chinese art available to all Australians.

The White Rabbit Gallery, a specially converted knitting factory near Sydney’s Central Station, has four floors of exhibition space as well as a theatrette, a library and a teahouse. Only a fraction of the Collection is on show at any time. The entire contents of the gallery are rehung twice a year.

1. Viewer :

the viewer for this picture is me and can be anybody else also. In this picture we can see that it seems like theres is a river with the watter fall behind the building but actually its just a street painting done by Julian Beever. for me this street painting is very awsome because we can enjoy the picture if we in the right angle to look at and if we already in the right position we can see this painting in 3D ways. street painting for me is another way to create some art with another media not only paper or canvas with oil or wattercolour media but we can do it in street with chalk as a media like Julian Beever did. He do it in a cool ways that the viewer (thats me and you) can enjoyed the result in 3D like we getting involved in this picture.

2. Producer:

The producer for is painting is Julian Beever. He is an English chalk artist. He start his project painting since mid-1990 and in his painting he used projection technique to get the 3D looked result from the right angle.

3. Represented:

in this picture we can see the river and the watterfall and there is an old raft with the broken flag seems flown by the river and nearly fall into the watter fall. we can feel that behind the building(in the right side) there's a big river and seems dangerous. in this picture I think the painter wants to show as the connected between human and the nature.
